How it works

Two channels, both your own iCloud, ending in one folder on your Mac.

Needs a Mac and an agent on your computer (Claude Code, Codex, …).

    Install Carry for Mac.

    Drag it to Applications; it keeps reading what iCloud already put on your Mac.

    Full Disk Access unlocks the protected sources, and Carry takes you there.

    Install Carry on your iPhone.

    It captures what iCloud does not carry — Health, Location, a share-sheet inbox; with Pro it also sends new photos and screenshots straight to your Mac.

    Switch a source on the phone or on the Mac; the other side follows. Health and Location are switched on from the iPhone.

  3. 3

    Point your agent at ~/.carry/context/.

    latest.md is today. For Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, carry mcp is the MCP server (stdio), and it answers even while Carry for Mac is closed.

Fourteen sources so far: eleven arrive because iCloud already syncs them to your Mac, three only the Carry app can capture. Each one you switch on makes the context richer.

You choose, on either side. A source you switch off is not read, even when its data already sits on the Mac.

What is read, where it goes, who sees it

Apple only lets an app read Health while the phone is unlocked, so on its own Health syncs roughly hourly. Tap sync on the phone and it goes at once.

Paste into your project or home file
My phone context lives in ~/.carry/context/. Read latest.md at the start of a session when my request touches my day, my health, places, or things I shared from my phone. Use `carry search "<query>"` for anything older.

No MCP needed. The agent reads the file like any other file.
